Jesus is both man and God. The great writer C.S. Lewis once said: “You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse.”
Some people did indeed call Jesus crazy or possessed, but others recognised in him the Redeemer that God had promised to us throughout the ages. For Jesus made the blind see, the lame walk, and the dead rise again, and he freed us from our sins through his death on the cross. This can only be the work of God, and not of someone who was just a man.
