Pope Leo XIV\u2019s prayer intention for the month of February is for children with incurable diseases.<\/p>\n
In a video to be released on Feb. 5, the Holy Father prayed that the faithful would realize that \u201cthe smiles, even in the midst of pain,\u201d of children suffering from incurable diseases, \u201care a testimony of [God\u2019s] kingdom.\u201d<\/p>\n
In the full video shared on the Pope\u2019s Worldwide Prayer Network website, Pope Leo recites an original prayer written specifically for this month\u2019s prayer intention.<\/p>\n

Lord Jesus,<\/p>\n
who welcomed the little ones in your arms and blessed them tenderly,<\/p>\n
today we bring before you the children living with incurable illnesses.<\/p>\n
Their fragile bodies are a sign of your presence,<\/p>\n
and their smiles, even in the midst of pain, are a testimony of your kingdom.<\/p>\n
We ask you, Lord, that they may never lack proper medical care,<\/p>\n
human and compassionate attention,<\/p>\n
and the support of a community that accompanies them with love.<\/p>\n
Sustain their families in hope,<\/p>\n
in the midst of weariness and uncertainty,<\/p>\n
and make of them witnesses of a faith that grows stronger through trial.<\/p>\n
Bless the hands of doctors, nurses, and caregivers,<\/p>\n
so that their work may always be an expression of active compassion.<\/p>\n
May your Spirit enlighten them in every difficult decision,<\/p>\n
and grant them patience and tenderness to serve with dignity.<\/p>\n
Lord, teach us to recognize your face in every suffering child.<\/p>\n
