Marriage and celibacy are two ways in which a Christian can follow God’s command to be fruitful (Gen. 1:28). In marriage a man and a woman dedicate themselves to each other in love. In celibacy someone dedicates himself or herself only to God’s love, without having sexual relationships.
Thanks to this commitment, a celibate person is ready to do what God requires of him, anytime and anywhere. Religious fathers, brothers and sisters who dedicate themselves to God find true happiness in their lives. You could consider this a foretaste of heaven, where no one will be married anymore.
