This year, a holy year, the Parish of St. Vitus and St. Willibrord of Hilversum will travel to Roermond on Wednesday, October 22. The bus will depart from Hilversum (Emmaus) at 7:00 a.m. and from Weesp (Oversingel, near St. Laurentius and St. Mary Magdalene) at 7:30 a.m. This may be reversed, depending on the bus company.
Upon arrival in Roermond, coffee, tea, and vlaai (a type of fruit tart) will be served. At 11:00 a.m., we will celebrate the Eucharist in St. Christopher’s Cathedral. This cathedral is one of the designated jubilee churches in the diocese of Roermond during this holy year. Afterwards, we will have lunch at the same place where we had coffee and tea earlier.
The afternoon program consists of a guided tour of the cathedral and the Munsterkerk. After praying the evening prayer or the rosary, we will depart around 4:45 p.m. for the places where we boarded earlier. You will be provided with food and drinks on the bus for the return trip.
Together, we are pilgrims of hope—this year’s theme—and we will celebrate this together on that day and truly experience it with heart and soul. The cost for this day is €56.50 per person. This includes the bus, coffee and tea with cake upon arrival, lunch, guided tours, and food and drinks on the bus on the way back. For young people up to the age of 21, the cost is €15 per person.
