Do you have to keep people alive at all costs?

No, the treatment should be proportional to the objective to be achieved. Every patient is entitled to ordinary care, such as food and water. Of course, such ordinary care should always be given. For instance, wounds should be treated and bandaged. However, it is not always possible to provide very expensive or radical treatments which may be disproportionate.

We received our lives from God and we know that we will die one day. It is very Christian to trust in God and prepare yourself for a death that you did not seek yourself, and not to cling to disproportionate treatments at any cost.
