During adoration the Host – which is the Body of Jesus – is placed in a beautifully decorated container (known as a ‘monstrance’). Jesus is thus visible to everyone and can be adored. On earth, we cannot come much closer to God.
You don’t have to do much during adoration. The power of adoration lies precisely in doing nothing for a period of time. In the silence of adoration, you can reflect deeply on Jesus with all your heart. By being with Jesus in this way, we show that we cannot live without him.
