Maria was assaulted violently in an attempted rape. She was rushed to hospital, but the doctors could not do much for her. Before dying, she received communion and clearly stated that she forgave her assaulter.
You may think you are unable to do the same. But with time and prayer you can learn to forgive even your worst enemy. Letting go of your anger, pain and maybe even hate will make you free to start living again.
